NAACP POMONA VALLEY BRANCH · VIRTUAL PANEL
Out of Bounds
Voting Rights, Athletics & Community
Out of Bounds asks who gets to play, who gets to vote, and who gets counted. SportsCrit™ reads that question through nine tenets — so the conversation does not end when the Zoom does.

FROM THE CLASSROOM
These resources are not just handouts. Dr. G teaches them as a module in KIN 4450: Social and Historical Perspectives in Sport course at Cal Poly Pomona, where students read the Out of Bounds campaign and the Protect College Sports Act through the nine SportsCrit™ tenets — tracing who plays, who profits, who votes, and who decides. This is SportsCrit™ in practice: from the classroom to the community.

Who Does It Really Protect?
A SportsCrit™ explainer on S. 4668, the Protect College Sports Act of 2026 — what the bill does, what the NAACP opposes, and who holds the power if it passes.
The NAACP opposes the bill's antitrust protections, federal preemption, expanded media bargaining authority, and limits on institutional liability — and argues that schools in states restricting Black voting power should not receive new federal benefits.
